Thursday 27 March 2008

With 116 places booked there was a record attendance at this subsea sector based forum with Ithaca Energy. After a brief introduction from Lesley-Anne Brodie, EIC Scottish Manager, Peter O’Connor, Managing Director of Swagelok Scotland started things off with a 15 minute member slot. After Peter’s presentation Paul Main, EIC Business Information Manager presented a subsea update. This was the first in the new style of forum whereby Paul will give a 20 minute subsea update power point presentation and he will no longer go through the project database. After Paul’s presentation James Lund, Projects Manager for Ithaca Energy presented a very informative presentation on Ithaca Energy, who are a young independent, oil and gas company. James presented information on who they are and what they are up to. He included detailed information on current projects and what work they have available to tender on. This proved to be invaluable information for those present. James’s presentation was very well received by all that attended and it provoked many interesting questions. James was also joined by his colleagues Stewart Scott, Operations Superintendent and Alan Martin, Topsides Lead Engineer who were also on hand to answer questions.

Feedback:

Just a short email to thank you for the Ithaca Energy Presentation last week. I found it very informative and following the presentations the speakers were very approachable and were in no rush to leave. As a result Carpenter & Paterson have potentially secured a small package of work in the form of inspection services on the Beatrice Installations.
