UK Group at Rio Oil and Gas
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
11 - 14 September 2006
Record attendance at Rio Oil & Gas 2006 applauds an oil self-sufficient Brazil. Rio Oil & Gas 2006 saw Petrobras celebrate a milestone for Brazil – self-sufficiency in oil. A record 32,000 visitors visited over 800 exhibitors occupying 30,000m2 of space. Meanwhile the conference attracted 3,500 delegates and 958 abstracts.
Since its first edition in 1982, both the exhibition and the conference have contributed to Rio de Janeiro's reputation of being the “Brazilian oil capital”. In fact, Rio de Janeiro State concentrates 80% of the oil produced in the country, along with 50% of the total gas production.
“With 12,000 m2 already reserved for 2008, we have a healthy problem - the five Riocentro pavilions will no longer be sufficient for the event,” said the President of the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute, IBP.

The Business Round, sponsored by Sebrae and Onip (National Oil Industry Organization), finished with expectations of R$ 100 million in business among small suppliers and large companies in the sector.
British representation was strong too, 32 companies exhibited in the UK Group showing a range of services and products.(Click here for the Brochure)- all reported favourably on the show:-
