A Night At The Races, Dubai

 A novel approach was adopted by EIC’s office in Dubai recently to provide members with an evening with a difference. The Dubai International Racing Carnival is now well underway which eventually finishes up with the richest horse race in the world, The Dubai World Cup that takes place on the 25th March. With the kind sponsorship of one of our global members, Aggreko, we were able to provide an opportunity for some serious networking as well as a relaxed evening where we could enjoy 8 world class horse races for the 4th race meeting of the season.
It turned out to be our best supported event yet with over 100 people enjoying the hospitality provided by the Dubai Racing Club in their prestigious Maktoum Grandstand. Terry Willis gave a short introduction and welcome speech with Jack Denz from Aggreko providing the response. With a complimentary buffet and bar available, everybody took advantage of the facilities and did their very best to predict the winners for the night but unfortunately, none of us managed to clinch the 50,000 Dirham (approx £8,000) first prize.
Several member companies took advantage of the opportunity and were well represented. Besides, Aggreko of course, we were also pleased to welcome the following members and their guests;
Balfour Kilpatrick, Bridon, Cooper Industries, Corrotherm, Costain, Denholm Industrial Services, Empower, Hunter Waterstone, Lloyds Register, Mammoet, Panduit, Prysmian Cables, Silver Fox R. Stahl, Tyco, Weir Valves and Wood Mackenzie.
