South West 32nd Annual Pembroke Supper

Thursday 8th March 2007
Cleddau Bridge hotel, Pembroke Dock

On Thursday 8th March 2007 the South West Committee and their guests enjoyed a memorable evening at the Cleddau Bridge hotel, Pembroke Dock.

The Cleddau Bridge Hotel is situated in the heart of Pembrokeshire, and lies adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park The hotel is well placed with stunning views overlooking the River Cleddau and close to the busy ports of Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven.

The supper was a tremendous success once again with over 92 guests in attendance. The evening started off with members and guests networking in the bar area followed by dinner which was served in the newly refurbished Pembroke Suite. We enjoyed a superb three course meal followed by excellent entertainment from Mick Martin, an experienced and versatile comedian from the Midlands and has appeared alongside some major sporting stars such as Tommy Docherty.  Mick was excellent and the room was filled with laughter.

Later that evening the South West Chairman Ken Davies announced the charity raffle. We raised £910 all of which has been donated to this year’s chosen charity “Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice”.

“Ty Hafan”, the Children's Hospice in Wales, is a very special place. It is located in its own grounds on the banks of the Channel at Sully, close to Barry to the west of Cardiff. The Hospice aims to improve the quality of life of children in Wales with life limiting or life threatening conditions and that of their families by providing a high standard of respite and palliative care. This is engendered in a caring, therapeutic, and family atmosphere without cost to the families involved.

“Ty Hafan” was purpose built and opened in January 1999 to provide help and support for the 300+ families living in Wales, where one or more of the children suffer from a life-limiting illness.

On behalf of the South West committee I would like to thank all the members & their guests who supported the charity raffle this year and a special thank you to the companies who so kindly donated the raffle prizes. With out your support this would not have been such a successful event and we look forward to welcoming you to next years Pembroke Supper.
