UK GROUP AT OTC 2006

The EIC were delighted to organize a large UK Group at OTC this year, comprising some 50 companies and covering an area, identical to recent years, of just over 900m2.

The strong support for the Group is significant given that OTC 2006 was the first of our events to take place after changes to the UK Trade & Investment funded TAP scheme (SESA) were applied.

As in previous years, UK branding both on the stands and in the entry halls were key to the success of drawing visitors to the group. Andrew J. Wain, Sales & Marketing Director, Brooksbank Valves Ltd commented:

“Having organised our participation at past exhibitions on my own, I can appreciate the amount of time and effort which went into organising the UK pavilion at OTC. I was particularly impressed by the “visibility” the UK pavilion had. Unlike other national pavilions at the event, the UK area could be seen from every angle in the hall – very impressive.”

Outside of the UK Group, the exhibition itself was described as bigger and better than ever with some 2,229 companies from more than 30 countries choosing to exhibit, representing an increase of 246 companies since 2005. This year exhibit space was expanded with two new climate-controlled Pavilions that were constructed adjacent to the main halls.

Finally, as anticipated, attendance at OTC exceeded recent years and reached a 24-year high of 59,236.
