Northern Region Annual Dinner, National Railway Museum , York
Tuesday 28th February 2006

Drinks Reception area – Sandvik Materials Technology and guestsThe National Railway Museum really was the “Perfect Platform” for the evening’s entertainment - 70 guests joined EIC on what was an extremely cold night more suited to a Baltic winter! Everyone warmed up at the Drinks Reception – serenaded by the Jazz Trio and the Station Hall was filled with great music, much talking and laughing and that was before we had started the entertainment!

It was pleasing to see EIC Member companies such as Hubbell, Sandvik, Pinsent Masons and DLA Piper entertaining guests from the sector such as ConocoPhillips, Total, SembCorp Simon Carves and Smith & Nephew.

Our thanks also to EIC’s guests – Paul Verrill of PX Ltd, Mark Johnson of Siemens PG, Keith Melton of NaREC, David Scatchard of Corus NES and Graham Cribb of Costain for providing us with excellent company on the EIC table.

David Scatchard, Keith Melton and Mike Gregory
Dinner was served at 8pm and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine. Milburn’s, resident caterers at the Museum, should be duly praised for their efficient service and sumptuous food!

After Dinner, Barry Clothier, Acting Chairman for the Northern Region Committee said a few words before handing over to Steve Womack, whose Doncaster brand of humour and music was well appreciated by the audience, helping the evening to end on a high note. At the end of the night, Mike Gregory was invited to draw the winning Business Card from the box - Tony Davison of Pepperl + Fuchs GB Ltd was presented with the prize of a bottle of Champagne.

The success of all EIC events depends on the support received from our Members – the Northern Region Annual Dinner was enjoyed by all that attended but let’s hope for a bigger and better Dinner next year!
