Middle East Oil Show (MEOS)
12 – 14 March 2007

The 15th Society of Petroleum Engineers Middle East Oil & Gas Show (MEOS) ended after three highly successful days having attracted a record total of 5,194 trade visitors from around the world.

The 14,000 square metre event covered all areas of the oil and gas industry
including exploration and production, on-shore and offshore technology,
transportation, geophysics, drilling and completion, measurement systems, automation and information technology, refining and petrochemicals, security and environmental protection, telecommunications and specialized education.

The UK group, managed by the Energy Industries Council was 15 companies strong and enjoyed the support of the British Embassy in Bahrain.  The 15 companies included, CMP Products, Detector Electronics (UK) Ltd, Global Solutions, Micropack Engineering Ltd, MTEM, Okazaki Manufacturing Company, OPITO, Panduit Europe Ltd, Peter Brotherhood, Profins, Quest Geo Solutions, Redback Drilling Tools Ltd, Remote Control, Sciencesoft Ltd and Tracerco.

His Highness the Prime Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa performed the official exhibition opening ceremony accompanied by an entourage of senior ruling family members, ministers, diplomats, and senior international industry leaders, during which he recognised the importance of MEOS in helping to disseminate experience, innovation and technology from the world over.

The social highlight of the week was the Reception hosted by the British Ambassador, Jamie Bowden at his residence.  Britain’s Duke of York, Prince Andrew was guest of honour.  This was a brilliant opportunity for delegates to meet Prince Andrew and enjoy a great evening of industry networking.
