UK GROUP WINS BEST COUNTRY PAVILION AT ADIPEC 2006!

The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) took place from 5 – 8 November 2006 at the International Exhibition Centre.  The theme for the 12th edition of this event was 'Meeting the Increasing Oil and Gas Demand through Innovation'.

The four day event was supported by key industry players such as ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Ministry of Energy and SPE (the Society of Petroleum Engineers). The exhibition attracted over 1300 exhibitors and  circa 28000 visitors attended to meet the leading figures in the oil & gas industry in the region.

As in previous years, the UK had a strong presence with a national pavilion covering 465m2 and in total over 130 UK companies exhibiting at the exhibition. An excellent range of services and equipment were on display including calibration equipment, oil and gas metering services, wire and rope manufacturing, protective equipment etc.

On the second day of the exhibition, the Energy Industries Council (EIC) were delighted to learn that their efforts in organizing the UK Pavilion were rewarded by receiving the prize for “Best Country Pavilion” thus beating 14 other national groups. The exhibition organizers had been particularly impressed by the eye catching design of the exhibition stands which included some 60, four metre high lightboxes illuminating the Union Jack.

Events Director for the EIC, Sarah Beattie commented. “ We were thrilled to receive the top award for a national group at ADIPEC. In addition to stand design, this reflects the outstanding quality of products and exhibits on display by the exhibitors in the group”.

ADIPEC 2008 will be held from 3rd – 6th November in the brand new Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre directly across from its current location. This new venue will encompass 8 huge exhibition halls covering 50,000m2 of floorspace.
