Network Lunch with Carillion
24th May 2007
St. George Hotel, Durham Tees Valley Airport, Darlington
Around 40 delegates collected at the St. George Hotel to listen to two presentations from Carillion. The first was given by Phil Totty, Carillion PME’s Operations Manager, explaining about the structure of Carillion Plc overall and where and how Carillion PME Mobile fits in the structure. Phil gave details of the structure of the business, key contacts based out of their offices in Middlesbrough and details of some of the current projects, including a major contract for Asahi Glass involving the expansion of ETFE production facilities.
Phil then handed over to Chris Craufurd for the second part of the presentation. Chris is the Operations Director for Carillion’s Civils division and his presentation concentrated on their capabilities in relation to Wind Farms, focussing on the experiences they gained from the Parc Cynog project and later the Hadyard Hill wind farm, which at the time of construction was the biggest onshore wind farm in the UK. Chris concluded his presentation with a look at Carillion’s excellent health & safety and environmental standards and awards.
Carillion was kind enough to send several personnel to the Lunch, ensuring one member of Carillion staff per table, to assist and enhance the networking opportunities afforded both to themselves and the delegates that attended.
