Northern Region Event Report
Network Lunch with Sellafield Ltd
Sellafield Visitor Centre,
Cumbria

Thursday 6 December 2007

A large audience of around 70 people attended the presentation made by Elaine Simpson, Commercial Manager Production Operations at Sellafield Ltd.  It covered a wide variety of aspects which included the history and context of Sellafield Ltd, the spend perspectives both historic and forecast and the Procurement Planning.  Elaine also went into great detail about how to do business with Sellafield Ltd, the points that need to be considered and also provided an update of the progress being made with contracts.

This was followed by lunch, which provided countless opportunities for networking between fellow delegates and also representatives from Sellafield  Ltd.  During the afternoon, one to one appointments had been arranged with numerous members of Sellafield Personnel which included:

Alan Dunne – Services Procurements
Rob McGarel – Commodity Procurements
Mike Hall – Plant & Equipment
Steve Slater – Major Project Procurement
Roger Boughton – Major Project Procurement
Colin Millward – Term Contract Procurement
Brent Broadhurst – Project Manager

This was very well received by the delegates and most meeting times were booked well in advance of the event, with the last few available meetings being taken on the day.  Indeed this was definitely a highly productive event, with many delegates making contacts which will benefit the companies in which they work.
