PD Ports is a leading ports and logistics service business, based in the North of England, and operating throughout the UK from bases at many key UK ports and logistics centres. This Network Lunch took place at the Head Quarters of PD Ports in Middlesbrough. Attracting a niche audience of around 25 delegates, this presentation was very well received with extremely  positive feedback being given following the event.
Delivered by Martyn Pellew, Group Development Director at PD Ports, the presentation began with a history of shipping on Teesside and its importance to the area. Martyn then went on to explain the background to PD Ports and how it has developed. The Northern Gateway Container Terminal was a key part of the presentation, with an explanation being given about the business rationale behind it and also the vision for the future. The structure and key contacts at PD Ports were also highlighted, giving delegates in attendance the means to be able to speak to them about how to build business relationships.
Following the lunch at which a great deal of networking took place, we were taken on a tour of Teesport. This highly informative visit, which was led by Martyn Pellew, showed the delegates the complete site of Teesport, from the well established businesses there to the relatively new, and also the planned future developments. This visit was extremely interesting and strengthened the agenda of the event.
