FPAL Verify Workshop with BP

With 34 places booked, this was the second of our FPAL events for this year; it was also the first time we had held a presentation on FPAL Verify. To start things off Brendan Bonner, HPI Global Segment Manager of SKF (UK) Ltd presented the 15 minute members slot. Following Brendan’s presentation Malcolm Wilson from FPAL started off by explaining what FPAL is. He then went on to give an update on what is new with FPAL, this included talk of the new FPAL website expected out in early 2008. Malcolm then went on to give a brief introduction to what verify is. Following on from Malcolm’s presentation Nigel Bowker, HSE Manager, Procurement Supply Chain Management, BP continued to talk about what verify is in more depth. He even showed live examples by going in to the FPAL website. We were honoured to have Nigel present on this subject as BP is one of the founder members of the Verify scheme. Nigel is also currently the chairman of the Verify Steering group. Nigel’s presentation sparked some great questions at the close of the session. The atmosphere was particularly light-hearted with a good level of humour exhibited by Lesley-Anne, Nigel and the membership in attendance. We again trialled a short member introduction slot just before lunch which was generally liked by the majority. Things seem to work best with smaller numbers at worked with the 34 present. Feedback has been tremendous.
