Who are Apache and what is our Business?
Thursday 23rd November
With ninety nine places booked this commercial presentation from Apache had the best attendance the Scottish Office have had for a presentation this year.
The presentation took place at The University of Aberdeen. Tony Kenyon, from Hayward Tyler Engineered Products, started of with a 15 minute member slot. After Tony’s presentation, Jim House, Managing Director of Apache North Sea Limited presented background information on Apache, he also talked about current projects that they are bidding on and working towards globally. He finished off talking about how potential suppliers can go about doing business with Apache and he gave key contact information within Apache. Jim’s presentation went in to considerable depth with a good quality of information.
As the presentation preceeded a subsea forum, Mark Richardson Coordinator of Subsea Operations at Apache gave an overview of existing and pending North Sea subsea developments. This included key subsea projects they have been working on. After lunch, at the beginning of the subsea forum, David Saul (from BP) presented information on the work of three joint industry projects in the area of subsea technology that BP are contributing to, in support of their ongoing standardisation goals. The projects he talked about were IWIS, Intelligent Wells Interface Standardisation, SIIS, Subsea Instrument Interface standardisation and SEAFOM Subsea Fibre Optic Monitoring.
With four separate detailed presentations members really did get value for money! An interesting informal discussion of current subsea projects concluded the forum.
