EIC Executive Lunch
Thursday 16th November

After the success of the Executive lunch that took place at Shell International in London last year it was time for one to be held in Scotland. On Thursday 16th November over 45 Chief Executives and Managing Directors of EIC member companies based in Scotland gathered at the Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen for what promised to be an excellent networking opportunity at senior level.

The lunch started with a drinks reception in the cocktail bar. The atmosphere was buzzing and conversation flowed, primarily fuelled by the buoyant oil and gas industry in Aberdeen at present. Once everyone had arrived guests were lead through to the Ogston Suite where lunch was served.

As dessert was served, Sandra Cassels, Chairman of the Scottish Committee, took to the stage to give a brief overview of what the EIC had been up to over the past year and the EIC’s continued growth. She then introduced the first of the two Industry speakers; Paul de Leeuw, Supply Chain Manager for BP North Sea.  Paul gave a top level presentation which really seemed to capture the attention of the whole room! Following Paul’s presentation Alistair McGregor, Chief Procurement Officer for Venture Production Plc gave another equally impressive presentation which.

Mike Gregory, CEO for the EIC, rounded off the lunch by giving a vote of thanks to the speakers and to DLA Piper for sponsoring the lunch. He thanked the Aberdeen office for the excellent organisation of the lunch, he also thanked all members for taking the time to attend.

All the feedback received from the lunch has been very positive. One member said ’it was wonderful to catch up with many faces that I have not seen for some time…. A great event and very well organised. It’s great to see the EIC spirit continue’.
