MPX Energia S.A is developing the largest integrated power generation project in Brazil and Latin America, primarily in Chile. MPX's projects consist mainly of coal-fired thermoelectric plants, but also include a hydroelectric plant, a small hydroelectric plant (Pequena Central Hidreléctrica), or PCH, a natural gas and an oil thermoelectric plants. Once in operation, these projects will generate close to 9.6 GW, equivalent to 20% of Brazil's current assured energy, of which 7.1 GW belong directly to MPX due to strategic partnerships established in some projects.
