Angola has been one of the hottest spots in Africa over the recent years for the E&P international oil companies. Its offshore discoveries plus government policy have helped create a stable environment for investment in the O&G industry.
Azule Energy’s latest discovery, Gajajeira, made in July 2025, has preliminary estimated resources reported of about 1Tcf of gas and up to 100 million barrels of condensate.
Another relevant development update has taken form as the Palas, Astraea and Juno (PAJ) project reached Final Investment Decision (FID) in June 2026. The overall development concept consists of 17 wells connected to a new FPSO with a nameplate capacity of 95,000b/d and a gas export capacity of 70MMcf/d, which will be delivered to Angola LNG (ALNG) plant via a new gas export line that will be tied into the existing Block 31 gas export network. As exploration ramps up, several IOCs to include Total, Chevron, and ExxonMobil have increased their interest in its waters, with more than USD$21bn to be invested in the country’s upstream sector, turning it into a landscape full of opportunities for the Supply Chain industry.
