Why KSA?
The overall estimated (CAPEX) for energy initiatives currently in progress within the Middle East is estimated at approximately $1.27 trillion, covering all energy domains. Leading the way is the upstream sector, which has $388.5 billion allocated for 223 projects, while the downstream sector trails with an investment of $295.1 billion across 141 projects.
Although heavily reliant on the oil and gas industries, the region is increasingly prioritising clean energy and transition efforts and the commitment is being seen to promote its deployment, with $?96.7 billion funneled into 145 renewable energy projects and $113.9 billion dedicated to energy transition strategies. Saudi Arabia holds the second position in the region after Iran, with a total investment of $231.8 billion across 185 projects, followed by the UAE in third place, allocating $214.1 billion for 142 projectst.
