About the event

Join to discover new markets and services, meet key operators, and find your next big project.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Baku Connect taking place on Tuesday 30th May 2023.

Azerbaijan has a rich energy heritage. Half of the world’s oil was once produced in Baku. Azerbaijan was the home of the world’s first oil well and world’s first onshore oil production facility. Oil, gas, and related petroleum products accounted for 85% of Azerbaijan’s total exports in 2021. The country has huge gas fields – its proven gas reserves amounted to 2.8 trillion cubic meters in 2020. As natural gas becomes an energy transition fuel worldwide, Azerbaijan has the potential to increase its gas exports in the future. Azerbaijan is also putting in place a renewables programme and overhauling its subsidised energy market. Increasing renewable energy projects across the country and the government’s focus on curbing carbon emissions are further expected to stimulate market growth.

The UK has a reputation in Azerbaijan as a major centre of expertise for engineering, project management and specialist manufacture for complex equipment. UK oil and gas expertise is well regarded in Azerbaijan and there are commercial opportunities in upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.

This unique event will bring together key players within Azerbaijan allowing you to learn about opportunities across the entire energy sector. This in-person event will also provide an update on the current market and deliver supply chain briefings on current opportunities. We will also cover areas for those new to the market or looking to export for the first time, allowing you to navigate through the various actions required for you to undertake business in Azerbaijan.

At Baku Connect you will:
- Learn about upcoming projects in the region
- Understand more about the ‘energy sector’ within Azerbaijan
- Attend company presentations and network with key industry players
