Maersk has launched the FI2 weekly ocean service to strengthen trade connectivity between Far East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. Addressing growing demand across the China-India trade corridor, the route provides vital capacity for the regional manufacturing and energy supply chains.
Operated by six 4,500 TEU vessels, the service connects key Chinese hubs with ports in Malaysia, Pakistan and India. A critical feature is its integration with India’s Dedicated Freight Corridor via the Port of Pipavav in Gujarat. This direct rail link facilitates faster, more reliable inland movement of project cargo and industrial materials to major developments in the National Capital Region.
For contractors, this enhanced logistical network offers greater resilience when sourcing materials and executing complex engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts in the region.
