Covering a massive 285km stretch of subsea infrastructure, India's ONGC has awarded offshore fabrication specialist Lamprell a major contract for the Pipeline Replacement Project PRP-IX. The extensive scope spans multiple western offshore assets, including the Mumbai High, Neelam, Heera, Bassein, and Satellite fields.
Beyond the complex transportation and installation of various subsea pipelines, the integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) agreement also mandates significant topside modification works across several existing offshore platforms. This technically demanding infrastructure programme is set to trigger a heavy influx of supply chain requirements for pipeline materials, marine logistics, and topside structural upgrades.
