Commonwealth LNG has signed a binding 20-year Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Mercuria Energy Trading for 1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG from its export facility in Cameron, Louisiana. The deal also includes a corresponding Gas Supply Agreement (GSA), ensuring a steady feed of natural gas to the plant.
This agreement marks a major commercial milestone for the project (now operating under the Caturus platform), bringing its total binding offtake to 7 Mtpa of the 9.5 Mtpa permitted capacity. Mercuria joins a roster of major committed buyers including Glencore, JERA, PETRONAS, and EQT. The contract will become fully effective upon the project's Final Investment Decision (FID).
