Statkraft has entered operations in three wind power projects in Chile, totaling over 100MW in generation capacity. Built in the O'Higgins region, they are the Cardonal, Manantiales and Los Cerrillos wind farms.
These are Stakfraft's first wind power projects in the country. The completion of these initiatives required a total investment of more than US$140m, resulting in the installation of 19 wind turbines.
Combined, the wind farms will produce approximately 330GWh to the national grid. This is enough to meet the needs of 100,000 households.
