Mozambique and South Africa

The east coast of Africa is seeing some of the most exciting developments globally in the oil and gas sectors with significant investments expected onshore and offshore.

Mozambique leads the way through the investments being led by Eni, ExxonMobil and Anadarko. Eni’s Coral developments are well underway and will see a floating LNG facility enter operations in 2022.

Several major contractors and operators have established a presence in market and the delegation will give all companies a great opportunity to engage with the major players.

South Africa is considered both a power house and an entry point into the continent but is resolving current electricity supply constraints through private sector investment in renewable energy, a major expansion of independent power producer (IPP) baseload capacity and a gas-to-power IPP program.

It is also important to note the importance of renewables in the country, where 42% of all new generation capacity will be from renewables.

Both Mozambique and South Africa offer significant opportunities across the power, upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.

Projects of interest includes Coral Field development and related FLNG facility, Offshore Area 4 Mamba Complex, Cabo Delgado GTL, Richards Bay Gas Fired Power Plant, Ibhubesi Gas Field, Cape Town Refinery Upgrade and Solar Power Project Dyason’s Klip I & II.
