Total begins construction on 52MW Japan solar project
08 October, 2019
French oil and gas giant Total has begun construction of a 52MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Japan.
Through its subsidiary, utility-scale solar business Total Solar International, the company is building the solar power plant in Ōsato.
The facility is Total’s third solar project in Japan, which will bring combined installed capacity to over 100MW in the country once operational.
Its 25MW Miyako solar plant and the 27MW Nanao plant both came onstream in 2017.
The Ōsato project will use 116,000 SunPower high efficiency solar PV modules.
