Sonatrach signs gas agreement with Eni

Italian oil and gas supermajor Eni signed gas agreements with Algerian state-owned oil company Sonatrach following high-level meetings in Algiers.
Sonatrach CEO Toufik Hakkar met with Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi and Algerian Energy Minister Abdelmadjid Attar to set the stage for future projects by the two companies.
The two firms agreed to accelerate work on the Berkine Nord project, with the aim to export six million cubic metres of gas per day by the end of 2020.
Three deals on gas marketing were also signed, focusing on production from the Ourhoud 2, Sif Fatima 2 and Zemlet El Arbi licences.
Discussions on new solar photovoltaic power projects in Algeria were also covered.
