Rovco launches subsea 3D streaming technology
03 December, 2019

Bristol-headquartered subsea technology firm Rovco has launched its new 3D streaming technology which allows clients to video and live stream 3D underwater footage to any device in the world.
The ‘SubSLAM Live’ stereo camera technology system sends images and 3D models of assets from the seabed to a computer browser.
Rovco trialled the technology earlier this year at a renewable wind farm, with an oil and gas supermajor, and most recently at an ex-naval dockyard owned by Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.
Engineers used the camera system to capture and live-stream high-definition video, while the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system built highly accurate 3D point cloud models.
