McDermott and Chiyoda announce first liquid from Cameron LNG
19 May, 2020
Houston-headquartered EPCI firm McDermott and its joint venture partner Chiyoda have announced that Train 3 of the Cameron LNG project has begun production of liquefied natural gas.
With production in the initial stages, the accomplishment precedes full completion of Train 3 and comes just weeks after the introduction of feed gas on 22 April.
Cameron LNG is jointly owned by affiliates of Sempra LNG, Total, Mitsui & Co and Japan LNG Investment.
McDermott and Chiyoda have provided the engineering, procurement and construction for the project since its initial award in 2014.
Including three liquefaction trains, the facility is projected to have export capacity of 12m tonnes per year of LNG, or approximately 1.7bn cubic feet per day.
