Gulf states award substation monitoring contract to Hitachi ABB Power Grids

Hitachi ABB Power Grids has won a three-year contract to supply its new substation monitoring technology, RelCare, to the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA).
The reliability-based service solution combines state-of-the-art asset management software with service partnership models.
GCCIA will use RelCare to remotely monitor the maintenance of all their substations across the six Gulf countries.
According to GCCIA, the project will increase operational efficiency of its 400kV network, running over 1,200km with a maximum interconnection capacity of 1.2GW.
