Danish developer Ørsted has completed the installation of the first turbine foundations in US federal waters, for the 12MW Coastal Virginia project.
The company is managing the offshore installation of the project on behalf of developer Dominion Energy.
Two 6MW Siemens Gamesa turbines will be part of the project when it is completed in the second half of this year with Coastal Virginia operating at the helm.
American vessels operator Atlantic Wind Transfers has been chosen to provide offshore marine support services for the offshore wind farm, and currently has a long-term contract with Ørsted providing offshore marine support services for the 30MW Block Island offshore wind farm.
