ExxonMobil has made another hydrocarbons discovery in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, more precisely at the Yarrow-1 and Sailfin-1 wells, where the company found 312ft and 75ft of hydrocarbon-bearing sandstones, respectively.
Activities were carried out in over 4,000ft and 3,500ft of water by the Stena Carron drillship.
ExxonMobil has announced more than 30 discoveries in Stabroek since starting exploration works in 2015. The field is operated by subsidiary Esso Exploration and Production Guyana, which holds a 45% share in the project.
Hess Guyana Exploration (35%) and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana (25%) are also involved as partners.
