Ørsted and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have established a partnership for the development of four offshore wind projects. The companies will have an equal share in the assets, which will be installed in Denmark and total 5.2GW in capacity.
The wind farms in question will be Vikinge Banke and Jyske Banke Nord, each with estimated capacity of 1.1GW and located in the North Sea, and the Bornholm Bassin Syd and Bornholm Basin Øst, each 1.5GW in the Baltic Sea.
The developers will also handle the construction of the plant’s transmission aspects.
The four facilities are scheduled to start production between 2027 and 2028, and once complete will more than double Denmark’s installed offshore wind capacity.
