Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has acquired a major turbines supply contract from the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan. The facility will consist of three offshore wind farms totalling 1.04GW.
As part of the agreement, Siemens will also provide operation and management services during a minimum of 15 years for the three plants – Hai Long 2A (300MW), Hai Long 2B (232MW) and Hai Long 3 (512MW), all located about 50km off the coast of Changhua County.
A number of 73 turbines (model SG 14-222 DD) will be delivered and installed by Siemens.
The Hai Long project is developed by Northland Power in partnership with Yushan Energy.
