Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, has disclosed the conclusion of construction work for the P-71 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit.
The vessel will be delivered to Petrobras for deployment at the Itapu field in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.
The P-71 FPSO left the company’s shipyard yesterday with plans to start activities until the end of the year.
Even though the COVID-19 pandemic deeply affected the works throughout 20 months, EJA confirms that it was able to finish construction under the schedule agreed with Petrobras.
The unit has production capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and storage capacity of 1.6m barrels. It can also accommodate 166 people.
