Woodside has granted Nel ASA’s subsidiary Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser a contract for equipment related to H2OK’s alkaline electrolyser. The liquid hydrogen facility is planned to be built at the Westport Industrial Park in Oklahoma, United States.
The contract is connected to the first development phase of H2OK, which will see the installation of a 290MW plant.
H2OK’s initial production capacity will be of 90 tonnes per day (tpd) of liquid hydrogen. A further increase to 180tpd, after the plant is expanded to 550MW, is possible.
A final investment decision (FID) on the project is expected by Woodside in 2023.
