The most recent geophysical and environmental studies for the Salamander floating offshore wind farm have been concluded by contractor Ocean Infinity. The 100MW plant is proposed by Simply Blue Group, Ørsted and Subsea7.
The data provided by Ocean Infinity will be further used for Salamander’s engineering studies. It will also integrate the environmental impact assessment (EIA) and the respective licencing process as a whole.
Ocean Infinity began works in August with the Northern Franklin vessel. In the same month, Wood was awarded the facility’s principal designed and pre-front end engineering design (FEED) contract.
Salamander will be located on the North Sea, 35km off the coast of Peterhead, Scotland.
The project is expected to go through the Crown Estate Scotland’s Innovation and Targeted Oil and gas (INTOG) leasing round.
