Bluefloat Energy and Energy Estate, developers of the Hunter Coast offshore wind project, have decided to expand the planned capacity of the plant from 1.4GW to 1.65GW.
The change follows further exploration of the site’s potential conducted by the companies.
Hunter Coast will be installed 20-50km off the coast of New South Wales using floating foundation technology.
The project is one of the developments announced last year by the BlueFloat Energy-Energy Estate partnership for offshore wind initiatives in Australia.
