Brazilian national oil company Petrobras has awarded the P-82 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit construction contract to Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters. The contract’s worth is estimated at US$3.05bn.
The FPSO will be deployed in the Búzios field, located in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin, approximately 180km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
The vessel is expected to start operations in 2026, with delivery happening in the first half of the year. The P-82 FPSO will be the tenth unit to be installed in Búzios.
Its planned production capacity is of 225,000 barrels of oil per day, while its gas processing capacity will be of 12 million cubic meters per day. The FPSO will also be able to storage more than 1.6 million barrels.
