The Selby District Council has given planning permission to Aura Power’s planned battery energy storage system (BESS) in Yorkshire.
This is Aura Power’s third approval this year for an energy storage project in the United Kingdom, these initiatives summing up to 290MW.
The BESS project will have a capacity of 100MW, being developed near the Drax power station for grid connection.
Construction of the energy storage facility is scheduled to begin in 2024, being part of Aura Power’s over 3GW of BESS projects in development worldwide.
