Iberdrola’s Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm has reached construction phase. The 476MW plant in the German Baltic Sea, off the Pomeranian coast, has already acquired all necessary permits and will be operational by late 2024.
The farm will feature 50 of Vestas’ MVOW V174 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 9MW and scheduled to arrive in Germany in 2024.
As soon as completion takes place, Baltic Eagle, which is part of a larger offshore wind complex worth US$3.7bn, will be able to support 475,000 houses and avoid emission of 800,000 tonnes of CO2.
