Woodside Energy has reviewed the schedule for its subsea installation campaign at the Sangomar project. According to the company’s plans, the campaign will start in late 2022, as equipment is still arriving in Senegal.
The Australian company has also stated that the Ocean BlackHawk drillship will start its activities in Sangomar in mid-2022.
Sangomar will feature a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. The vessel, called Léopold Sédar Senghor, the name of Senegal’s first president, is a converted VLCC that arrived at a Chinese shipyard last February.
As of March 2022, the first phase of Sangomar was 56% complete. First oil is set for 2023.
