Aker Solutions to provide subsea production system for project in Brazil

23 Nov 2021

Aker Solutions has been awarded a substantial contract by Petrobras to supply a subsea production system and related services for the Mero 4 project offshore Brazil.

This is the fourth consecutive production system for the Mero field development, which is one of the largest oil discoveries in Brazil's subsalt region.

The firm will deliver a subsea production system consisting of up to 13 vertical subsea trees designed specifically for the Brazilian subsalt, including subsea control modules and master control station for control systems and topside, subsea distribution units, and related tie-in equipment.

The majority of the work will be executed by Aker Solutions' subsea manufacturing plant in São José dos Pinhais and its subsea service base in Rio das Ostras. The work begins immediately, with installation scheduled to take place between 2023 and 2025.
