Repsol and partners have started oil production from the YME field, 20 years after its production ceased due to low oil prices at the time.
The oil field is located in the 9/2 and 9/5 blocks of the Egersund Basin, about 130km from the Norwegian coastline, and is expected to have a peak production capacity of approximately 56,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).
It is also estimated to have recoverable reserves of around 10m standard cubic meters of oil, which is nearly 63MMboe.
The field is operated by Repsol Norge with a 55% stake, while Lotos Exploration and Production Norge holds 20%, KUFPEC Norway 10% and OKEA with 15% stake.
