Regulatory approvals have recently advanced for multiple renewable energy developments in Peru. The national energy and mines ministry awarded Orygen Perú a definitive concession to build the 169.82MW Arenarosa photovoltaic plant. Located in the Ica region, the site will feature 297,930 bifacial modules connected to the grid via a 220kV substation. Orygen currently manages a 2.3GW portfolio and is preparing to energise the 94MW Wayra facility.
To further support regional dispatch capabilities, the ministry also granted Céfiro Energía a concession for a 31.6km, 220kV transmission line, which will serve the planned 320MW Céfiro wind farm.
Meanwhile, AQP Solar obtained environmental clearance for the 100MW Sol de Arequipa project. The power director is now authorised to formalise contracts with all associated developers.
