Seaway7 has installed all 54 transition pieces at ESB and Red Rock Renewables’ 1.1GW Inch Cape wind farm off east Scotland.
The milestone achievement by the company’s heavy lift crane vessel Seaway Alfa Lift comes just two months since all the project’s 54 monopiles were put in place at the North Sea site.
The 28-metre tall and 700-tonne TPs were supplied by CWHI and CFHI and marshalled at Forth Port’s yard in Leith.
Attention will now turn towards the installation of 54 pin piles for the project’s 18 jacket foundations ahead of the array cable and turbine scopes kicking off later this year.
Inch Cape Project Director John Hill said: “Installing all the 54 TPs is a major achievement for the Inch Cape team and a terrific step forward for the project. This opens the site for the next campaign of the array cable installation and for the start of turbine installation later in the year.”
Seaway7 Senior Project Manager Niamh Thompson added: “The successful installation of all 54 TPs from the Seaway Alfa Lift marks an important milestone for the project and reflects the dedication, expertise and co-operation shown by our teams.
“With this phase now complete, our focus turns to the installation of the pin piles in preparations for the jacket campaign later this year.”
