Houston-based subsea equipment specialist KOIL Energy Solutions has been awarded a contract to execute its first subsea umbilical maintenance campaign in Brazil. This strategic agreement marks the company's official entry into the world's largest deepwater market.
The scope of work encompasses the re-termination and testing of critical umbilical elements, including electrical cables, hydraulic control lines and chemical injection lines. Utilising specialised tooling and proprietary methodologies, KOIL will manage the pull-in, removal and replacement of these subsea components.
Engineering, planning and procurement activities will be coordinated from the firm's operational base in Macaé, supported by its Texas facility. Scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, this campaign aims to safely restore vital infrastructure while positioning the contractor for broader opportunities across the Brazilian offshore sector.
