Italian contractor Saipem has won two major awards from Eni with a combined value of approximately €800m.
The first contract supports the third development phase of the Baleine oil and gas field offshore Ivory Coast. Operating in water depths of up to 1,300m, Saipem will manage the engineering, fabrication and installation of 50km of rigid pipelines. The three-year campaign will utilise the FDS and Shen Da construction vessels to install flexible risers, subsea production systems and a 22km umbilical.
Separately, Enilive has commissioned Saipem to deliver engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a new deoxygenation unit at its Venice biorefinery in Porto Marghera, Italy. Capable of processing 70 tonnes per hour of biogenic feedstocks, this onshore facility will significantly boost the site's hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biofuel output.
