Oceaneering International has commenced a six-month, multi-discipline offshore survey campaign for an undisclosed operator. Utilising the recently upgraded Ocean Intervention II vessel, the programme encompasses operations offshore Trinidad and the US Gulf of Mexico.
The initial four-month phase in Trinidad involves 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition, high-resolution seabed mapping and geotechnical investigations. Deepwater autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) operations and shallow-water towed geophysical systems will also be deployed.
Subsequently, the vessel will spend two months in the US Gulf conducting AUV-based block surveys, geotechnical sampling and pipeline inspections featuring non-contact cathodic protection technology. Following extensive enhancements in early 2025, the Ocean Intervention II can perform simultaneous, single-pass operations. This consolidated capability significantly reduces execution time, offshore exposure and overall emissions compared to conventional multi-vessel strategies.
