BW Offshore has signed a front end engineering and design (FEED) agreement with Equinor for the Bay du Nord floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
The FEED phase will run until the end of 2026, aiming to mature the vessel's design, finalise the execution schedule and align commercial contracts ahead of a potential final investment decision (FID) in 2027. Operated by Equinor in partnership with BP, Canada's pioneering deepwater oil project holds an estimated 400m barrels of recoverable light crude.
To support the ongoing development, BW Offshore has established a dedicated office in St. John's to collaborate directly with authorities, Equinor and the regional supply chain.
