Offshore drilling contractor Seadrill Limited has secured two contract awards with Harbour Energy subsidiary LLOG Exploration Company for operations in the US Gulf. The agreements will add approximately US$260m to the company's contract backlog.
The deals cover two ultra-deepwater drillships. The West Neptune has been awarded a 365-day contract extension, scheduled to begin in September 2026. Additionally, the West Vela has secured a 270-day programme, with operations expected to commence in August 2026.
These awards build upon a decade-long collaboration between Seadrill and LLOG. According to Seadrill Chief Executive Officer Samir Ali, the new backlog will support revenue visibility and free cash flow generation as the company positions the vessels for expected improvements in global floater utilisation by 2027.
