ExxonMobil has reached a positive final investment decision (FID) for the Hammerhead field offshore Guyana. As part of the Stabroek block, the Hammerhead project will involve a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit connected to 18 development wells.
Ten of these wells will be production wells, while the remaining eight will be injection wells. They're expected to enable a daily production of 150,000 barrels, elevating Stabroek's daily production capacity to 1.5 million barrels.
Hammerhead is the seventh Stabroek development to be approved. First oil is scheduled for 2029, with total investment currently being calculated at US$6.8bn.
